We’re always looking for ways to give back to the community, support your professional goals and connect with you. From awards and recognition to continuing education courses, as well as our volunteer opportunities and Emergency Relief Program, we are here to celebrate your achievements and help you reach further as REALTORS®, community members and individuals.
Our member benefits
GCAAR offers no-cost continuing education classes for D.C., Maryland and Virginia required and elective classes. GCAAR holds virtual and limited in-person classes. (Average savings of $280 per each state license renewal cycle.)
These courses are an excellent way to enhance your professionalism, standout amongst your peers and increase your skills, proficiency and real estate knowledge. GCAAR offers these courses throughout each year at a discounted price.
Our professional development seminars, offered both in-person and online, are designed to help you hone your craft and get answers to questions you may not have even known you had - at no cost to you, as a GCAAR member.
GCAAR REALTORS® can receive a discounted rate on Bright MLS fees, which averages to $216 a year in savings. Contact them at support@brightmls.com to confirm you are receiving the discounted rate.
Not only does GCAAR house our Montgomery County and District of Columbia contracts on this website, but GCAAR REALTORS® can also access our extensive forms libraries on the following contract form service platforms:

REALTORS® and certain types of Affiliates may obtain SentriLock’s services through GCAAR. Contact our Member Services team to set up SentriKey® app access. Visit our REALTOR® store to purchase the new SentriGuard Bluetooth lockboxes.

GCAAR produces several regular publications that inform and support members, including Capital Area REALTOR® magazine; our weekly email newsletter, Newsline; our broker/office manager email newsletter, Broker Beat - and Real Advocacy, our monthly legislative update email.
GCAAR provides monthly local housing statistics reports.
GCAAR REALTORS® also have access to REALTORS® Property Resource (RPR®) for customizable reports.
Forms help
We also offer help for REALTOR® members with information on GCAAR's Montgomery County and Washington, D.C. forms and contracts. The email address is intended to provide legal risk management related to forms (but NOT specific, authoritative legal advice). You can get help by emailing FormsHotline@gcaar.com.
GCAAR’s political advocacy staff works on your behalf to make sure the interests of REALTORS® are represented in the region’s policy decision-making.
We offer support around the National Association of REALTORS®’ Code of Ethics and Professional Standards, by offering help with filing ethics complaints and help with mediating and arbitrating disputes.GCAAR hosts a number of annual events—including our largest (virtual) educational event, REALTOR® Fest; the GCAAR Recognition Awards Program; Annual Installation & Holiday Party and various smaller events throughout the year.
Involvement & networking opportunities
Members have many opportunities to get more deeply involved in GCAAR and support other professionals in their community, primarily through volunteering on committees, attending community service events, responding to our legislative calls for action, in-person networking events, town halls and Broker/Manager Forums.
Marketing opportunities
Marketing your real estate business can feel like a full-time job in and of itself, so GCAAR offers marketing opportunities to help ease some of that work. Brokerages and affiliates have an opportunity to advertise in Capital Area REALTOR® magazine, and in our weekly email newsletter, Newsline. We also offer annual partnerships and sponsorships that can help you get the word out about your work.
