The History & Power of Real Estate
Since 2020, GCAAR has been hosting a webinar series to educate and inspire discussion around the history of institutionalized discrimination in real estate – and how those barriers still affect today’s society, both nationally and in our local communities. Watch the past webinars on our Event Recordings page.
We’ve hosted prominent national and local experts over the years, including Richard Rothstein, author of “The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America,” and Bill Dedman, the Newsweek investigative reporter who, in 2019, helped to break the news that real estate agents on Long Island were helping to reinforce racial segregation through illegal steering.
