Membership applications & new members

Individuals who hold an active real estate license with a brokerage, where the broker is also a REALTOR® member of GCAAR, may apply for REALTOR® membership. If applying for primary REALTOR® membership, you will pay local, state and national REALTOR® dues through GCAAR.

In order to properly process your membership application, you must submit the following items:  

• Completed membership application, signed by both agent and broker/office manager.  
• Digital copy of real estate license(s) or documentation from real estate commission confirming your license information, including office location.  
• Completed dues and fees form.  

Please email your completed application, dues and fees form and digital copy of your real estate license to newmember@gcaar.com for processing. If you do not want to email your information, you may mail it to our Rockville office location listed at the bottom of the application or drop it off during normal business hours at either office location. Applications are processed within 48 business hours of receipt. Once processed, you will receive a “Welcome to GCAAR” email providing your membership details, benefits, and other important information.

If an individual holds an active primary REALTOR^® membership through another REALTOR^® association, you may apply for GCAAR secondary REALTOR® membership, as long as you hold an active real estate license with a brokerage, and the broker is also a REALTOR® member of GCAAR. Secondary REALTORS® do not submit state and national dues through GCAAR.

If applying for secondary REALTOR^® membership, you must provide a Dues Waiver/Letter of Good Standing (for the current year) from your primary REALTOR^® association, along with your completed application and fees form.

Affiliates are not REALTORS^®; however, they are vital partners and supporters of the real estate industry. By becoming an affiliate member, you have access to around 11,000 REALTOR^® members in the DMV area and can build lasting relationships within the real estate industry.

There are two types of affiliate memberships through GCAAR:

• Individual affiliate membership: This type of affiliate membership is non-transferable.
• Corporate affiliate membership: This allows for up to three (3) individuals from a particular company to be affiliated with GCAAR at a discounted rate. This affiliate membership can be transferred to another individual within the same company.
