Bright Community Facebook Group - Bright has launched a private group for subscribers moderated by Jay Thompson, a licensed broker, Inman News columnist, and former Director of Industry Outreach for Zillow. You will just need to answer three simple questions to verify your subscriber status for approval to join the group. Access the group here.

January 8, 2020 Update: After extensive discussions with Brokers and Agents, Bright MLS's Board of Directors has decided to expand the Off-MLS Policy to include Rental (Residential Lease) and New Construction listings. This decision was made to ensure the principles of Fair Housing, Cooperation and Compensation are being adhered to across the spectrum of listings entered into Bright. Effective Wednesday, October 16, Bright MLS has instituted a new policy regarding properties marketed prior to being listed on the MLS, known as Off-MLS listings. The primary requirement of this new policy is that a property must be listed on Bright MLS within one business day following consumer marketing of any kind, with marketing being defined in the policy. Fines will not be levied for non-compliance until February 1, 2020.

Within one business day of marketing a property to the public, the Participant must submit the listing to Bright MLS for cooperation with other Bright MLS Participants. Public marketing includes, but is not limited to, flyers displayed in windows, yard signs, digital marketing on public facing websites, brokerage website displays (including IDX and VOW), digital communications marketing (email blasts), multi-brokerage listing sharing networks, and applications available to the general public.
