Beginning January 8, Guidewell Financial Solutions will be leading a statewide public awareness campaign in partnership with the Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh to "Protect Older Americans from Financial Exploitation"- declared PROTECT Week. Financial exploitation/senior financial abuse is a fast-growing, complex, and underreported form of abuse. Most incidences involve perpetrators who are in a trusted relationship with the victim, however, scams and fraud by strangers are also common.
