2022 Good Neighbor Award winner

The winner of GCAAR’s 2022 Good Neighbor Award is D’Ann Melnick! She has spent 21 years in real estate, and five years as a GCAAR member. D’Ann has been active on the Community Service Committee, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and currently the Grievance Committee—but outside of GCAAR, she volunteers with Hero Dogs, Inc. as a puppy raiser and board member.  

D’Ann’s volunteer work with Hero Dogs has helped to place highly trained dogs with veterans and first responders to assist with mobility and PTSD-related psychological disabilities. She has spearheaded major fundraising events that have raised more than $100,000 and secured more than $18,000 in sponsorships, plus in-kind donations. She even donated a portion of her commissions in 2022 to sponsor a new service dog in training, Hero Dogs Charlie, named after her husband’s grandfather – an Army veteran and local legend.
