GCAAR’s Rookie of the Year: Jordan Chronopoulos

When 2021 GCAAR Rookie of the Year Jordan Chronopoulos became a REALTOR® in 2019, his goal, besides his own professional success, was to better the REALTOR® community through relationships and public advocacy. Chronopoulos has attended all GCAAR Young Professionals Network (YPN) events for the last two years, and he heads up the events subcommittee. He has been an REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) investor since he began his career in real estate, and has earned several certifications and taken professional development courses to increase his industry knowledge and capabilities. In his free time, Chronopoulos helps to feed middle schoolers through the KIND Foundation, repair homes for people in need through the nonprofit Rebuilding Together, and volunteers at dog shows with Partnership for Animal Welfare.

GCAAR’s Good Neighbor Award winner: Omar Gonzalez

REALTOR® Omar Gonzalez has been named GCAAR’s 2021 Good Neighbor Award winner. Gonzalez, who has been a REALTOR® for 10 years and is licensed in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland, dedicates his time and money to several area nonprofits that assist disadvantaged residents and strengthen the communities in which he lives and works. Gonzalez is a volunteer soccer coach and mentor to refugee boys through Champions in Action; pays students’ tuition and helps to raise funds at Dematha Soccer Academy; and travels to Central and South America with National Community Church to help young women who have been victimized by human trafficking.

The 2021 Affiliate of the Year winner is Paragon Title, which was founded in 1981 and has been an active GCAAR member for several decades. In that time, the company has provided financial support for many of GCAAR’s initiatives - and its employees have spent many volunteer hours serving on committees, instructing GCAAR-sponsored educational opportunities , and helping to further the goals of the association and its members.

This year, Rob Rothstein, settlement attorney, assisted with the February forms release, creating a PowerPoint to educate GCAAR members about it. A GCAAR-approved instructor, he also taught at the 2021 REALTOR® Fest. Both Rob and Brad Rothstein, attorney at law, have been members of GCAAR’s YPN committee, and Brad helped with the 2020 GCAAR Shoebox Drive, donating items and helping to organize them for distribution.
