SPA Information Available in the MRIS Public Records

Effective April 1, 2001 a new SPA (Special Protection Area) Disclosure law went into effect. Three SPAs are located in Montgomery County. The new law requires that if a property is located in a SPA, the seller must disclose that fact to each buyer prior to the buyer's signature on a property sale contract.

The Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS) has updated Montgomery County Public Records with the SPA information. Properties designated as SPAs are indicated in the Site Influence field with the following words: SPECIAL PROTECTION AREA. This field is located in the Property Description section of the Public Records. Note: The Site Influence field only appears if there is data in that field.

GCAAR has updated the Subdivision Plat, Water and Sewer Service and Special Protection Areas Disclosure form #1320A. The updated form, dated 3/2001, is available on-line in the members only section of www.gcaar.com.
