GCAAR is proud to announce that the 18th annual Capital Area Real Estate Summit ("the Summit") will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the new Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road) in Rockville, Md. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:45 p.m.
The event draws real estate professionals from DC, Maryland, and Virginia seeking to obtain credit to fulfill their continuing education requirements. Throughout the day sponsors will be set up outside of classrooms and in common areas so attendees may learn about goods & services offered by industry product leaders between classes.
GCAAR's Annual Meeting & Cocktail Reception will cap the day off from 4:45 to 7:00 p.m. During the brief Annual Meeting, this year's GCAAR award winners will be recognized including our REALTOR® of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and local Good Neighbor Award winners. A special presentation will be held to honor GCAAR member Ned Li, H & I Real Estate, who went on to win the National Association of REALTORS®' Good Neighbor Award. Ned is the first GCAAR member to win this prestigious honor.
Pre-registration for the Summit ends at Midnight on Friday, November 26 (there will be no registration between November 26 and December 2). Pre-registration costs: $79 for GCAAR-affiliated REALTORS®; $119 for non-REALTORS®. Onsite registration will be $149 at the door. Registration includes a Metro day pass available upon request and choice of one of four plated lunch sessions (Rookie Society; Broker/Manager; Designation Awareness; and General Networking). Attendees are also strongly encouraged to bring non-perishable food items as a donation to House of Ruth, a metro area organization that provides shelter, food, job assistance & counseling for battered or homeless women and women recovering from addiction.
GCAAR represents more than 8,000 REALTORS® in Montgomery County, Maryland, and Washington, DC. The association provides a variety of services to local real estate professionals such as providing continuing education courses, setting up lockboxes and constantly keeping them informed of up-to-date changes within the industry. GCAAR is also the voice for the area's REALTORS® and works with lawmakers to ensure public policy that encourages home ownership in the greater capital area.
