On Saturday, November 19, dozens of REALTORS® from Montgomery County and Washington DC joined the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS'® (GCAAR) Team in the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon on the National Mall. GCAAR was a Gold Sponsor for the event and individual REALTORS® and their companies donated over $3,000 to the Walkathon.
"Everyday we help people buy and rent houses, condos and apartments," said 2005 GCAAR President Susann Haskins. "The Help the Homeless Walkathon is another way for us to reach out to the members of our community who need help meeting the basic human need of having a place of their own to call home."
The GCAAR REALTOR® Team included individual members, real estate companies and offices large and small including: Gerlach real estate; W.C. & A.N. Miller Development; Help-U-Sell Federal City Realty; Long & Foster Real Estate Downtown Silver Spring Office; Re/Max Allegiance Georgetown Office; and Weichert Offices in Burtonsville/Tri-County, Cleveland Park, Germantown/Upper Montgomery County, and Silver Spring/Takoma Park.
GCAAR is the voice for REALTORS® in Washington, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland. Representing more than 11,000 real estate professionals in the greater capital area, GCAAR provides numerous services vital to its members' daily business needs and works with lawmakers to ensure public policy that encourages home ownership.
