Marta Peralta, an agent with RE/MAX Realty Group in Gaithersburg, has been named the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR) Rookie of the Year for 2006. The Rookie of the Year award is given to a GCAAR REALTOR® licensed less than four years who demonstrates outstanding commitment to the industry through education, community service, and association participation.
A full-time REALTOR® for the past three years, Marta's success stems from her work with first-time homebuyers. Working mainly in the immigrant community, she uses her fluency in Spanish, as well as her working knowledge of French and Portuguese, to bridge the language gap for her clients.
Part of Marta's success begins with her commitment to education. In addition to meeting her required education credits, she has earned a professional designation as a Certified Residential Specialist®.
Deeply involved in the community, Marta has worked with Housing and Community Initiatives since 2004, in addition to teaching classes in Spanish for first-time homebuyers. In these classes, she emphasizes the effort required for individuals to achieve the dream of homeownership. "Her extensive work and involvement with the community has been an inspiration to our office," said Marta's office manager, Julie Larson.
GCAAR is the voice for REALTORS® in Washington, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland. Representing more than 11,000 real estate professionals in the greater capital area, GCAAR provides numerous services vital to its members' daily business needs and works with lawmakers to ensure public policy that encourages home ownership.
