The GCAAR President appoints members to committees and advisory groups on an annual basis. Each Fall, members are given the opportunity to express an interest in serving on a committee or advisory group for the following year.
Community Service Committee
The Community Service Committee evaluates all charitable contributions (whether monetary or volunteer work hours) the association should involve itself with. It also sets award program rules, selects award recipients and assists staff with emphasizing the importance of recognizing members who contribute to their industry and the community.

Contract and Clause Committee
The Contract and Clause Committee is comprised of 17 (including the Chair and Vice-Chair) GCAAR REALTOR® and affiliate members who review the association's standardized forms and make recommendations on revisions. The Chairperson may appoint subcommittees to update specific forms as necessary.

Grievance Committee
The Grievance Committee is comprised of 17 (including the Chair and Vice-Chair) members who are responsible for reviewing ethics complaints and arbitration requests that have been filed with GCAAR. The committee determines whether to forward cases to the Professional Standards Committee for hearings. Attendance at professional standards training seminar is required.

International Society
The International Society Committee develops educational and networking opportunities for members interested in learning about various nuances involved in international real estate transactions.

Professional Development Advisory Group
The Professional Development Advisory Group serves in an advisory role to GCAAR on the association's educational offerings, including continuing education courses & events, professional development and technology training.

Professional Standards Committee
The Professional Standards Committee is responsible for enforcement of the REALTORS® Code of Ethics and facilitation of the GCAAR arbitration process. Committee compilation must include a wide representation of brokerages. Members of the committee are assigned to sit on hearing panels in both ethics and arbitration cases. Attendance at professional standards training seminar is required. Professional Standards Committee members must have served at least one term on the Grievance Committee.

Property Management Advisory Group
The Property Management Advisory Group meets as necessary to review the association's standardized property management forms and make recommendations on revisions.

Public Policy Committee Public Policy Committee Member Log In
The Public Policy Committee works with staff to serve the public policy interests of REALTORS® in Washington, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland. The committee is comprised of 17 members, which includes 15 members plus a Chair and Vice Chair. The WDCAR President and the GCAAR President work together to appoint committee members and are responsible for ensuring diverse and inclusive representation from both Montgomery County and DC.

Rookie Society Committee
The Rookie Society Committee solicits sponsors for monthly events & gatherings to assist new agents in acclimating to the industry.

RPAC Committee
The RPAC Committee is charged with raising funds for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. The committee, along with staff, plans fundraising events as well as marketing campaigns.
